Syllabus
The MMS syllabus covers many of the same management concepts as an MBA programme. It combines foundational business subjects with specialised study, projects and internships to help students develop management knowledge and practical skills.
The two-year MMS programme is divided into four semesters. During the first year, students study the fundamentals of business administration and management. In the second year, they focus on a chosen specialisation, which may include Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Operations or Finance, depending on the institution.
The curriculum and semester-wise arrangement of subjects vary across universities and business schools. The following table presents an indicative MMS syllabus:
| Semester | Subjects |
|---|---|
| Semester 1 | Essentials of Management; Business Statistics; Financial Accounting; Operations Research |
| Semester 2 | Marketing Management; Human Resource Management; Corporate Social Responsibility; Business Ethics |
| Semester 3 | Organisational Behaviour; Macroeconomics; E-Commerce; Introduction to Creativity and Innovation Management |
| Semester 4 | IT Skills for Management and Technology Platforms; Personal Grooming and Personal Effectiveness; Information Technology for Management; Intellectual Capital and Patenting |
Projects and internships provide opportunities to apply classroom learning to business situations and gain exposure to professional working environments.
