The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is one of India’s premier business schools. Located in Bangalore, Karnataka, it is also recognised as one of Asia’s leading graduate management institutions. IIM Bangalore holds international accreditation from the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

Some of the major highlights of IIM Bangalore are given below:

• Rankings: In the QS World University Rankings 2026, IIM Bangalore was ranked 64th in the Executive MBA/PGDM category and 101st in the Accounting and Commerce category. The institute was also ranked second in the Management category by NIRF 2025. The NIRF 2026 rankings are awaited.
• Courses: IIM Bangalore offers several management programmes, including the two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM), Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management for working professionals (PGPEM) and the one-year residential Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP).
• Flagship programme: The institute’s flagship course is the two-year full-time MBA programme, commonly known as the Post Graduate Programme in Management.
• Fees: The tuition fee for the IIM Bangalore MBA programme is approximately INR 26 lakh. The tuition fee for the Executive MBA programme is around INR 26.5 lakh.
• Admissions: Admission to IIM Bangalore is entrance-based. MBA applicants are shortlisted using their CAT scores, followed by selection rounds such as the Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates applying for the EPGP programme are shortlisted based on their GMAT or GRE scores. The institute also conducts the IIMB Test for admission to selected programmes.
• Placements: During IIM Bangalore placements 2026, the average package offered to PGP and PGPBA students was INR 35.35 LPA, while the median package stood at INR 34.75 LPA. A total of 665 offers, including seven international offers, were made. Consulting emerged as the leading recruiting sector, accounting for approximately 45% of the placements.
• Scholarships: IIM Bangalore offers financial assistance and merit-based scholarships to eligible students. A merit scholarship of INR 1.75 lakh per year is awarded to eligible PGP students. Students placed among the top 25% of the batch after the first year may qualify for the scholarship.
• Partnerships and collaborations: IIM Bangalore promotes women’s entrepreneurship through partnerships with Goldman Sachs and Kotak Mahindra Bank. The institute has also collaborated with NITI Aayog to support entrepreneurship and the development of new ventures.
